Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization on these web pages, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of collecting demographic data, evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google.

The purposes of data processing are to evaluate the use of the website and to compile reports on activities on the website. Based on the use of the website and the Internet, other related services shall then be provided. The processing is based on the legitimate interest of the website operator.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: Browser Add On to disable Google Analytics.

This will install an opt-out cookie on your device. This will prevent the collection by Google Analytics for this website and for this browser in the future, as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.

Use of Google Analytics Google Signals

We have enabled Google signals in Google Analytics. This updates existing Google Analytics features (advertising reports, remarketing, cross-device reports, and interest and demographic reports) to obtain aggregated and anonymized data from you, provided you have allowed personalized ads in your Google account.

The special thing about this is that it is cross-device tracking. This means that your data can be analyzed across devices. By activating Google signals, data is collected and linked to the Google account. Google can thus recognize, for example, if you view a product on our website via a smartphone and only buy the product later via a laptop. Thanks to the activation of Google signals, we can launch cross-device remarketing campaigns that would otherwise not be possible in this form. Remarketing means that we can also show you our offer on other websites.

Google Analytics also collects other visitor data such as location, search history, YouTube history, and data about your actions on our website through Google signals. This gives us better advertising reports from Google and more useful information about your interests and demographics. This includes your age, what language you speak, where you live, or what gender you are. Furthermore, social criteria such as your profession, your marital status or your income are also added. All these characteristics help Google Analytics to define groups of people or target groups.

The reports also help us to better assess your behavior, wishes and interests. This allows us to optimize and adapt our services and products for you. This data expires by default after 26 months. Please note that this data collection only takes place if you have allowed personalized advertising in your Google account. This is always aggregated and anonymous data and never individual person data. You can manage or delete this data in your Google Account.

Use of Matomo

With your consent, we use the open source software Matomo to analyze and statistically evaluate the use of the website. Cookies are used for this purpose. The information about website usage obtained in this way is transmitted exclusively to our servers and summarized in pseudonymous usage profiles. We use the data to evaluate the use of the website. The data collected is not passed on to third parties.

The IP addresses are anonymized (IP masking), so that an assignment to individual users is not possible.

The processing of the data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO. We thereby pursue our legitimate interest in optimizing our website for our external presentation.

You can revoke your consent at any time by deleting the cookies in your browser or changing your privacy settings.

Use of Google Ads

The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising program of Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted advertisements can be played on the basis of user data available at Google (e.g. location data and interests) (target group targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively by analyzing, for example, which search terms have led to the display of our advertisements and how many ads have resulted in corresponding clicks.

The use of this service is based on your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO and § 25 para. 1 TTDSG. The consent can be revoked at any time.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks and https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.

Use of the Google Tag Manager

We use the Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

The Google Tag Manager is a tool that enables us to integrate tracking or statistical tools and other technologies on our website. The Google Tag Manager itself does not create user profiles, does not store cookies and does not perform any independent analyses. It only serves to manage and play out the tools integrated via it. However, the Google Tag Manager records your IP address, which may also be transmitted to Google’s parent company in the United States.

The use of the Google Tag Manager is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in a quick and uncomplicated integration and management of various tools on his website. Insofar as a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO; the consent can be revoked at any time.

Use of Microsoft services for web analysis and advertising purposes

We use the technologies described below from Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, D18 P521, Ireland (“Microsoft”). The data processing is carried out on the basis of an agreement between jointly responsible parties in accordance with Art. 26 DSGVO. The information automatically collected by Microsoft technologies about your use of our website is usually transferred to a server of Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA and stored there. There is no European Commission adequacy decision for the USA. Our cooperation with them is based on standard data protection clauses of the European Commission.  For further information on data processing by Microsoft, please refer to Microsoft’s privacy policy.

Microsoft Advertising

For advertising purposes in the Bing, Yahoo and MSN search results as well as on third party websites, the so-called Microsoft Advertising Remarketing Cookie is set when you visit our website. This cookie automatically enables interest-based advertising by collecting and processing data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information about your use of our website) and by means of a pseudonymous CookieID and based on the pages you visit.

For website analytics and event tracking, we use Microsoft Advertising Universal Event Tracking (UET) to measure your subsequent usage behaviour when you have accessed our website via a Microsoft Advertising ad. For this purpose, cookies may be used and data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information, and information about your use of our website based on events specified by us, such as visiting a website or subscribing to a newsletter) may be collected, from which usage profiles are created using pseudonyms. If your Internet-enabled devices are linked to your Microsoft account and you have not deactivated the “Interest-based advertising” setting in your Microsoft account, Microsoft may create reports on usage behaviour (in particular cross-device user numbers), even if you change your terminal device, so-called “cross-device tracking”. We do not process personal data in this respect; we only receive statistics compiled on the basis of Microsoft UET.

Use of Facebook services for web analysis and advertising purposes

Use of Facebook Pixel

We use the Facebook Pixel as part of the technologies of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook (by Meta)” or “Meta Platforms Ireland”) described below. The Facebook Pixel automatically collects and stores data (IP address, time of visit, device and browser information as well as information on your use of our website based on events specified by us, such as a visit to a website or newsletter registration), from which usage profiles are created using pseudonyms. In the context of so-called extended data matching, information that can be used to identify individuals (e.g. names, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers) is also collected and stored in hashed form for matching purposes. For this purpose, when you visit our website, a cookie is automatically set by the Facebook Pixel, which uses a pseudonymous CookieID to recognise your browser when you visit other websites. Facebook (by Meta) will combine this information with other data from your Facebook account and use it to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website use, in particular personalised and group-based advertising.
The information automatically collected by Facebook (by Meta) technologies about your use of our website is generally transmitted to a server of Meta Platforms, Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA and stored there. There is no adequacy decision of the European Commission for the USA. If the transfer of data to the USA falls within our responsibility, our cooperation is based on standard data protection clauses of the European Commission. Further information on data processing by Facebook can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy (by Meta).

Facebook analytics

As part of the Facebook Business Tools, statistics on visitor activity on our website are created from the data collected with the Facebook Pixel about your use of our website. The data processing is carried out on the basis of an agreement on commissioned processing by Facebook (by Meta). Their analysis is used for the optimal presentation and marketing of our website.

Facebook Ads (ad manager)

We use Facebook Ads to advertise this website on Facebook (by Meta) as well as on other platforms. We determine the parameters of the respective advertising campaign. Facebook (by Meta) is responsible for the exact implementation, in particular the decision on the placement of the ads with individual users. Unless otherwise specified for the individual technologies, the data processing is carried out on the basis of an agreement between joint controllers pursuant to Art. 26 DSGVO. The joint responsibility is limited to the collection of the data and its transmission to Meta Platforms Ireland. The subsequent data processing by Meta Platforms Ireland is not covered by this.

On the basis of the statistics on visitor activity on our website compiled via Facebook Pixel, we operate group-based advertising on Facebook (by Meta) via Facebook Custom Audience by determining the characteristics of the respective target group. In the context of the extended data matching (see above) that takes place to determine the respective target group, Facebook (by Meta) acts as our processor.

On the basis of the pseudonymous cookie ID set by the Facebook Pixel and the data collected about your usage behaviour on our website, we operate personalised advertising via Facebook Pixel remarketing.

Via Facebook Pixel Conversions, we measure your subsequent usage behaviour for web analytics and event tracking when you have reached our website via an ad from Facebook Ads. The data processing is carried out on the basis of an order processing agreement by Facebook (by Meta).

Use of Instagram

The controller has integrated components of the service Instagram on this website. Instagram is a service that qualifies as an audiovisual platform and allows users to share photos and videos and also to redistribute such data on other social networks.

The operating company of the Instagram services is Instagram LLC, 1 Hacker Way, Building 14 First Floor, Menlo Park, CA, USA.

By each call of one of the individual pages of this website, which is operated by the controller and on which an Instagram component (Insta button) has been integrated, the internet browser on the information technology system of the data subject is automatically caused by the respective Instagram component to download a representation of the corresponding component from Instagram. Within the scope of this technical procedure, Instagram receives knowledge about which specific subpage of our website is visited by the data subject.

If the data subject is logged in to Instagram at the same time, Instagram recognizes which specific subpage the data subject is visiting each time the data subject calls up our website and for the entire duration of the respective stay on our website. This information is collected by the Instagram component and assigned by Instagram to the respective Instagram account of the data subject. If the data subject activates one of the Instagram buttons integrated on our website, the data and information thus transmitted will be assigned to the personal Instagram user account of the data subject and stored and processed by Instagram.

Instagram always receives information via the Instagram component that the data subject has visited our website if the data subject is simultaneously logged into Instagram at the time of calling up our website; this takes place regardless of whether the data subject clicks on the Instagram component or not. If the data subject does not want this information to be transmitted to Instagram, he or she can prevent the transmission by logging out of his or her Instagram account before accessing our website.

More information and Instagram’s applicable privacy policy can be found athttps://help.instagram.com/155833707900388 and https://www.instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/ .

Use of Pinterest

The controller has integrated components of Pinterest Inc. on this website. Pinterest is a so-called social network. A social network is a social meeting place operated on the Internet, an online community that generally allows users to communicate with each other and interact in virtual space. A social network can serve as a platform for sharing opinions and experiences or enables the Internet community to provide personal or business-related information. Among other things, Pinterest enables users of the social network to publish collections of images and individual images as well as descriptions on virtual pinboards (so-called pinning), which can then in turn be shared by other users (so-called repinning) or commented on.

The operating company of Pinterest is Pinterest Inc., 808 Brannan Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA.

By each call of one of the individual pages of this website, which is operated by the controller and on which a Pinterest component (Pinterest plug-in) has been integrated, the internet browser on the information technology system of the data subject is automatically caused by the respective Pinterest component to download a representation of the corresponding Pinterest component from Pinterest. More information about Pinterest is available at https://pinterest.com/. As part of this technical procedure, Pinterest receives knowledge of which specific subpage of our website is visited by the data subject.

If the data subject is logged in to Pinterest at the same time, Pinterest recognizes which specific subpage of our website the data subject is visiting each time the data subject calls up our website and for the entire duration of the respective stay on our website. This information is collected by the Pinterest component and assigned by Pinterest to the respective Pinterest account of the data subject. If the data subject activates a Pinterest button integrated on our website, Pinterest assigns this information to the personal Pinterest user account of the data subject and stores this personal data.

Pinterest always receives information via the Pinterest component that the data subject has visited our website if the data subject is logged into Pinterest at the same time as calling up our website; this takes place regardless of whether the data subject clicks on the Pinterest component or not. If the data subject does not want this information to be transmitted to Pinterest, he or she can prevent the transmission by logging out of his or her Pinterest account before accessing our website.

Pinterest’s published privacy policy, available at https://about.pinterest.com/privacy-policy provides information about Pinterest’s collection, processing and use of personal data.

Use Twitter

The controller has integrated components of Twitter on this website. Twitter is a multilingual publicly accessible microblogging service on which users can publish and distribute so-called tweets, i.e. short messages limited to 140 characters. These short messages can be accessed by anyone, including people who are not registered with Twitter. However, the tweets are also displayed to the so-called followers of the respective user. The operating company of Twitter is Twitter, Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA.

Each time one of the individual pages of this website operated by the controller is called up and on which a Twitter component (Twitter button) has been integrated, the Internet browser on the information technology system of the data subject is automatically caused by the respective Twitter component to download a representation of the corresponding Twitter component from Twitter. Further information on the Twitter buttons can be found at https://about.twitter.com/de/resources/buttons. Within the scope of this technical procedure, Twitter receives knowledge of which specific sub-page of our website is visited by the data subject. The purpose of integrating the Twitter component is to enable our users to disseminate the content of this website, to make this website known in the digital world and to increase our visitor numbers.

If the data subject is logged in to Twitter at the same time, Twitter recognizes which specific subpage of our website the data subject is visiting each time the data subject calls up our website and for the entire duration of the respective stay on our website. This information is collected by the Twitter component and assigned by Twitter to the respective Twitter account of the data subject. If the data subject activates one of the Twitter buttons integrated on our website, the data and information thus transmitted will be assigned to the personal Twitter user account of the data subject and stored and processed by Twitter.

Twitter always receives information via the Twitter component that the data subject has visited our website if the data subject is logged into Twitter at the same time as calling up our website; this takes place regardless of whether the data subject clicks on the Twitter component or not. If the data subject does not want this information to be transmitted to Twitter, he or she can prevent the transmission by logging out of his or her Twitter account before accessing our website.

Twitter’s applicable privacy policy is available at https://twitter.com/privacy?lang=de .

Use of script libraries (Google Web Fonts)

In order to display our content correctly and graphically appealing across browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Web Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/) on this website. Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser’s cache to avoid multiple loading. If the browser does not support Google Web Fonts or prevents access, content is displayed in a standard font.

Calling up script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the operator of the library. It is theoretically possible – although it is currently unclear whether and for what purposes – that the operators of such libraries collect data.

The privacy policy of the library operator Google can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Use of Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API to visually display geographical information. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about visitors’ use of the map functions. You can find more information about the data processing by Google in the Google privacy policy . There you can also change your personal privacy settings in the Privacy Center.

Detailed guidance on managing your own data in relation to Google products can be found here.

Embedded YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos on some of our websites. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. This tells Youtube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your Youtube account, Youtube can assign your surfing behavior to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your Youtube account beforehand.

When a Youtube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behavior.

Those who have deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program will not have to expect any such cookies when watching Youtube videos. However, Youtube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you would like to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in the browser.

For more information on the privacy policy of “Youtube”, please see the provider’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

Facebook Social Plugin

This website uses Facebook social plugins, which is operated by Facebook Inc. (1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA). The integrations are recognizable by the Facebook logo or the terms “Like”, “Like”, “Share” in Facebook’s colors (blue and white). Information on all Facebook plugins can be found at the following link: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/

The plugins are only activated when you click on the corresponding buttons. If they are grayed out, the plugins are inactive. You have the option to activate the plugins once or permanently.

The plugins establish a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook servers. This only takes place after the plugin has been activated. The website operator has no influence on the nature and extent of the data that the plugin transmits to the servers of Facebook Inc. Information on this can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/help/186325668085084

The plugin informs Facebook Inc. that you as a user have visited this website. There is a possibility that your IP address will be stored. If you are logged into your Facebook account during your visit to this website, the aforementioned information will be linked to it.

If you use the functions of the plugin – for example, by sharing or “liking” a post – the corresponding information is also transmitted to Facebook Inc.

Social plugins

Social plugins from the providers listed below are used on our websites. You can recognize the plugins by the fact that they are marked with the corresponding logo.

Information, which may also include personal data, may be sent to the service provider via these plugins and may be used by the service provider. We prevent the unconscious and unintentional collection and transmission of data to the service provider through a 2-click solution. To activate a desired social plugin, it must first be activated by clicking on the corresponding button. Only this activation of the plugin also triggers the collection of information and its transmission to the service provider. We ourselves do not collect any personal data by means of the social plugins or about their use.

We have no influence on what data an activated plugin collects and how it is used by the provider. Currently, it must be assumed that a direct connection to the services of the provider is established and at least the IP address and device-related information are collected and used. There is also the possibility that the service providers try to save cookies on the computer used. Please refer to the data protection information of the respective service provider to find out which specific data is collected and how it is used. Note: If you are logged into Facebook at the same time, Facebook can identify you as a visitor to a particular page.
