Football love: A holiday camp full of fun
Zettisch, 31.08.2023 – Teufelskicker, 1. FC Fisch, Die geilen Kicker, Team Dumpfbacke, Die geilen Affen and Team Kicker – these were the names the children came up with for their teams at this year’s football camp.
In cooperation with SSV Jahn Regensburg and ULRICHSHOF, the 3-day holiday camp took place on the SV Thenried pitch. The coaching team of SSV Jahn around Konrad and Korbinian took over the training of 26 football enthusiastic children aged 6 to 13. “My friend Tessa took part last year and raved about how great it was at the Jahn holiday camp. That’s why I’m also taking part now. I’m already really good at football, but I want to get even better,” says Theresa. “And you know what? I even learned how to do a bicycle kick!” says the 11-year-old proudly.
Intensive technique training
Juggling, passing, volleying, dribbling and crossing – the technique training had it all. In the tournaments and at the Jahn diploma, the children were able to show off their newly learned skills. “I enjoy everything, especially winning,” laughs Moritz. “And now I can even shoot with my left foot,” the 7-year-old enthuses. Leopold, the youngest camp participant at 6, has “learned a double pass with a bench.”
Nevertheless, despite all the newly acquired playing skills, one thing should not be lost sight of: “Fair play is the most important thing,” says youth coach Konrad, who himself referees on the pitch several times a week. “I’ve taught the children that it’s not the best player who wins, but the most intelligent one, because that’s who runs the game.” And if you sometimes don’t win, Theresa has a very special method for not getting frustrated: “The more goals you concede, the less self-confidence you have,” she is sure. “I really like to win, but when I do, I don’t win by so many goals, because I know how it feels for the others when you lose 10-0.”
Fair play is the most important thing!

“Despite the mixed weather, we really had a lot of fun over the past three days,” said ULRICHSHOF junior manager Nikolaus Brandl. “We would like to express our thanks to SV Thenried for giving us the opportunity to use their pitch again, and of course to SSV Jahn Regensburg for making it such a success. We are looking forward to next year when we will again organise a joint football camp.”
