Nine young people began their training at ULRICHSHOF at the beginning of September – six of them as hotel managers, two in the restaurant and event catering sector and one in the kitchen. The new talents come from both the region and Kyrgyzstan and bring with them exciting stories, dreams and goals..

ZETTISCH. At the beginning of September, nine young people began their training at ULRICHSHOF. Junior manager and DEHOGA Bavaria training ambassador Nikolaus Brandl welcomed the new talents personally: “It is a special moment for us every year when we welcome our trainees. They bring fresh ideas, motivation and enthusiasm – exactly what makes ULRICHSHOF so vibrant. For us, training is not a compulsory task, but a matter close to our hearts and an investment in the future.”

Six trainees are starting their careers as hotel managers – and each one has their own unique story: 16-year-old Leonie Kroll from Hemau near Regensburg has been familiar with the world of gastronomy since she was a child: her father was a chef and often took her to work with him. ‘That’s when I knew I wanted to work in the hotel industry. I like that there are so many opportunities here.’ Her dream is to work on a cruise ship for a year or two after gaining some professional experience, and to discover the world at the same time.

Sixteen-year-old Laura Sannicola from Tretting is almost an ‘old hand’: she has completed several internships at ULRICHSHOF and therefore quickly knew that she wanted to start her training here. ‘The profession teaches you a lot about life – that fascinated me. Besides, ULRICHSHOF is just such a beautiful place.’

Sixteen-year-old Viktoria Koller from Warzenried also gained her first experience at ULRICHSHOF. ‘I did an internship here and loved it. I was inspired by relatives who also work in the hotel industry.’

Sixteen-year-old Meike Plötz from Ränkam brings a lot of energy and sporting ambition to the table. ‘I like that there are so many opportunities here and that you can constantly develop yourself further. I’ve always wanted to work with people and help them – this job is perfect for that.’ She has clear ideas for the future: ‘I want to see the world, and as a hotel manager, I can work anywhere. That freedom motivates me.’

17-year-old Kamila Zhaparova from Bishkek’s passion for interacting with guests led her to Bavaria. ‘I’ve always wanted to work with people and communicate with guests while I work. Here, I have the opportunity to gain valuable experience.’ Her clear goal is to successfully complete her training and then work as a qualified hotel manager.

18-year-old Fatima Keneshbekova had also been thinking about moving to Germany for a long time. ‘It was my dream. I studied German intensively and worked in restaurants in my home country. Of course I miss my family, but I see my homesickness as motivation to achieve my goals.’

In addition to the hotel management trainees, two trainees are also starting as restaurant and event catering specialists. 17-year-old Freya Ziegler from Fürth near Nuremberg loves being on the move and working with people. ‘This job offers a lot of variety and allows you to get to know different areas – I like that. What’s more, the staff here are very friendly, which was important to me.’ After completing her training, she would like to stay at the ULRICHSHOF for the time being and then realise her dream of travelling the world as a flight attendant.

18-year-old Erkaiym Keneshbekova from Kyrgyzstan already has experience as a waitress. ‘There are many opportunities to do vocational training in Europe – for me, this is a chance for a better life.’ Her long-term goal is to study after completing her training.

Seventeen-year-old Akbar Sultanbekov, also from Kyrgyzstan, will be joining the kitchen team. ‘Cooking is my hobby and my passion. I have already worked as a waiter in a restaurant and would like to learn how to combine theory and practice here.’ Germany offers him the opportunities he desires: ‘In Kyrgyzstan, the catering industry is not as developed – here I have the chance to really further my education.’

Intercultural diversity as a factor for success

To help young people settle in quickly, ULRICHSHOF has a strong mentoring programme: experienced employees accompany the trainees, and those in higher years of training also actively help out. ‘This creates a community in which people support each other and learn from each other,’ explains HR manager Julia Dobmeier.

ULRICHSHOF consciously invests in its employees and their development. ‘We attach great importance to innovation and further training so that jobs are future-proof,’ says Nikolaus Brandl. ‘We expect our trainees to show commitment, team spirit and a desire to learn continuously. In return, we offer them an environment that combines security, personal development and opportunities for advancement.’

In 2025, the ULRICHSHOF family will grow by nine talented individuals who come not only from the region but also from distant countries – and who all share a common passion: hospitality.
