Mindful breathing – Monk Dolpo Tulku Rinpoche at ULRICHSHOF

06.11.2025

Some days leave a special impression – quiet, deep and long-lasting. 6 November 2025 was just such a day, when we at ULRICHSHOF had the great honour of welcoming Dolpo Tulku Rinpoche. The Buddhist monk, teacher and yogi guided our guests through a whole day of mindfulness, breathwork and inner reflection – a retreat that inspired and touched hearts.

The impetus for this day came from Michela Lankes, member of the ULRICHSHOF management team. She initiated the invitation to Dolpo Tulku Rinpoche – primarily for our team, so that our employees could gain new energy, knowledge and mindful inspiration, which they could then pass on to our guests.

‘I love sharing joy and sharing knowledge – and seeing everyone doing well. We carry so much power within us to heal ourselves: physically, mentally and spiritually. That’s exactly why Tulku was at ULRICHSHOF,’ says Michaela Lankes.

Early in the morning, interested participants gathered in the lobby for the good morning ritual: a gentle mixture of prayer, yoga and Lung Jong Pranayama – a breathing practice rooted in the Vajrayana Tantras. With calm presence and deep clarity, Rinpoche conveyed how valuable conscious breathing is for bringing body and mind into harmony.

Throughout the day, he introduced the art of Lung Jong Pranayama in several sessions – a practice that combines Tibetan and Indian traditions and works on three levels::

  • the outer level, which stretches and strengthens the body
  • the inner level, which activates prana – the life energy – and strengthens the immune system
  • the secret level, in which meditation, consciousness and deep inner peace can be experienced

With simple, easy-to-learn breathing exercises, Dolpo Tulku Rinpoche showed us how we can find more serenity in our everyday lives. He spoke about chakras, nadis, prana and bindus, explained the significance of the vajra body and gave valuable insights into how we can be more mindful with our energy.

The day ended with an evening meditation – a moment of silence that visibly touched many participants.

Who is Dolpo Tulku Rinpoche?

Dolpo Tulku Rinpoche – whose real name is Tulku Orgyen Chöying Yeshe – was born in Dho Tarap (Dolpo, Nepal) in 1982. Raised in a lama yogi family, he is considered the reincarnation of the second Nyinchung Tulku Rinpoche, an important yogi and Dharma holder of Namgung Monastery.

His path did not begin in the monastery, but as a shepherd and farm boy in the mountains of Nepal. It was not until he was eight years old that he secretly followed his grandfather to India to participate in a Kalachakra empowerment given by the Dalai Lama. This experience marked the beginning of his spiritual journey. Today, he is an internationally respected teacher who inspires people with his profound knowledge and extraordinary warmth.
