ULRICHSHOF is “Germany’s Best Family Hotel”
13.04.2026
Major Accolade for ULRICHSHOF Nature • Family • Design: At the prestigious Falstaff Hotel Awards, the family-run hotel in the Bavarian Forest was named the winner in the “Best Family Hotel in Germany” category by the jury. The awards ceremony took place on April 13, 2026, at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Vienna.
The Falstaff Hotel Awards are among the most prestigious accolades in the German-speaking world. Each year, the magazine, in collaboration with a panel of experts, honors outstanding hotels in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and South Tyrol. The awards are based, in part, on the Falstaff Hotel Guide, which is considered one of the most important resources for discerning travelers.
The award was accepted by Ulrich N. Brandl, owner of the ULRICHSHOF, and Michaela Lankes, a member of the management team, the hotel’s photographer, and the driving force behind the interior design and the ULRICHSHOF’s distinctive style. “This award really means a lot to us. It confirms that our commitment to taking family vacations to a new level is not only lived out internally but is also recognized by the outside world,” said Ulrich N. Brandl during the award ceremony.
This latest award underscores the hotel’s consistent development over the past few years. The ULRICHSHOF has already been honored multiple times for its innovative overall concept—including first place in the family hotels category at the Connoisseur Circle’s “Germany’s Best Hotels” awards in 2024 and 2025, as well as winning the Mein Tophotel FAMILY CUP 2025 in the overall concept category. “These numerous awards also confirm that the ULRICHSHOF can already count itself among the international elite of luxury family resorts,” emphasizes Ulrich N. Brandl.

A Look into the Future
The hotel is already being managed by the next generation: Nikolaus Brandl and Benjamin Brandl are responsible for the ULRICHSHOF’s continued development and are driving new concepts and projects forward with fresh ideas.
The family of hoteliers also has a clear vision for the coming years: The ULRICHSHOF aims to establish itself as one of the leading premium family hotels in Europe—with the goal of becoming one of the few 5-star superior hotels for luxurious family vacations.
“We want to continue breaking new ground and actively shaping the future of family vacations—with innovative ideas, a clear commitment to quality, and the courage to think differently,” says Nikolaus Brandl. This includes, among other things, innovative architectural concepts, new educational approaches, and a consistently refined understanding of service. “Our goal is to create a place where every generation feels at home—and where time spent together becomes a cherished memory.”
